Journal of Applied Geophysics (Abbreviated as JAG) is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal. Edited and published under the responsibility of the Egyptian Society of Applied Petrophysics. The journal is published in hard format from 2000 till 2022 and transferred to electronic format starting in 2023. 

Through the publishing initiative of the Egyptian Academy of Science Research and Technology, and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB), the journal is hosted by the EKB and ASRT. For open-access publishing, the JAG (Cairo) uses an exclusive licensing agreement. Authors will transfer copyright to the Egyptian Society of Applied Petrophysics (ESAP) but will have the rights to share their article(s) in the same way as permitted to third parties under the relevant user license, as well as certain scholarly usage rights.

The journal allows the author(s) to hold the copyright, and to retain publishing rights without any restrictions.
